The Fairmount Park south garden, Cliff Path and 100 Wissahickon Steps are an integral part of the largest landscaped park in the United States. In 2005, Masonry Preservation Group, Inc. was selected to restore these popular elements of a park that is visited by over 100,000 visitors annually. The Highlights of this project included: Restoration and reconstruction of the 1830’s marble fountain, construction of a new underground concrete mechanical building, construction and placement of historic replica benches, installation of custom fabricated cast iron railings, reconstruction of stone masonry at the Cliffside path and 15,000 square feet of brick and asphalt pavers with concrete sub-base.
