The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was built in 1864. This beautiful brownstone church was officially designated a “cathedral” in 1937. Today, it is the headquarters of the Bishop of Camden. In 2007 MPG completed masonry restoration on the church tower, steeple, steeple entry way arch, cloistery and the north and west entries. This work included: Removing, shoring and replacing sandstone, cutting and pointing, Dutchman patching, grout injection, extensive brownstone patching and replacement, extensive stone carving and Jahn patching. |
