Some of the most critical and highly used facilities
at the University of Pennsylvania are their parking garages.
Many of these concrete garages are at least thirty years
old and in need of repair. The university selected MPG
to complete structural restoration projects on several
of their garages. The various projects included structural
improvements to correct: post-tensioning deterioration,
disrupted concrete surfaces, corrosion of reinforcing
steel, drainage, concrete cracking, spalling, and joint
failure.
The parking garage project at the University of Pennsylvania
Museum Lot # 7 earned the 2004 American Concrete Institute
(Delaware Valley Chapter) Award for Concrete Restoration/Rehabilitation.
