College Hall at University of Pennsylvania - Philadelphia, PA

Princeton Chapel
The cornerstone for College Hall was laid in 1873. This Thomas Webb Richards building was the first building constructed on the University of Pennsylvania’s present site. Today, it anchors the campus’ historic “Green”. College Hall was added to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places in 1957 and to the National Historic Register in 1978. MPG began the first phase of the restoration of this serpentine stone structure in 1989. In Actuality, MPG was chosen for all five phases of the building restoration. To date, the exterior restoration of this cornerstone building on the University campus has included: Stabilization of the serpentine walls and the structural brick walls, consolidation of the foundation and building walls with over 1,000 tons of a Dry-Pac Grout system and re-building the stone retaining walls. Today, College Hall is home to the offices of the University President, Provost and Undergraduate Admissions as well as numerous classrooms.
