The Mill Pond Road Bridge in Somerset County was a
unique project that required the structural stabilization
and rebuilding of an early 19th Century bridge within
the context of the Historic Preservation guidelines.
Significant portions of the bridge were removed, reconsolidated
and rebuilt. In order to comply with historic preservation
requirements, existing stones were salvaged and re-used.
All materials and techniques utilized were subject to
the approval of the engineer and historic consultant. This
project won the 2000 Somerset County Cultural & Heritage
Commission Award. |
